Hip Hip Crochet

Materials: • size F (3.75 mm) hook • very small amount of worsted weight yarn (I used I Love This Yarn in Amethyst) • flat back rhinestones (optional) • craft glue (if you're using rhinestones) • yarn needle Abbreviations: • ch = ch • sc = single crochet •sl st = slip stitch Round 1:  starting with a magic ring, 12 sc in ring. Sl st to first sc. Pull tail of ring to tighten ring. Round 2:  ch 1, sc in same st, ch 3, sc in next st, * sc in next st, ch 3, sc in next st.* Repeat from * to * around. Sl st to first sc. Round 3:  in each ch 3 sp around: sc, ch 1, sc (ch 6, sl st to 3rd ch from hook, ch 3, sl st to 3rd ch from hook, ch 3, sl st to 3rd ch from hook, sl st to 3rd ch of ch 6) sc, ch 1, sc. Sl st to first sc. Fasten off leaving  long tail to stitch to hat. Weave in yarn tail from ring. Cut a 6 inch length of yarn and tie to the top of one of the points for a hanger. If you're using the rhinestones, glue them to the snowflake and allow to dry over night.

Lace cluster: (yo, insert hook, draw up a loop) 4 times in same st, yo, draw through all 9 loops, ch 1. This pattern is written for child size but can easily be adjusted to any size by increasing or decreasing the beginning ch and the amount of rows. With orchid, ch 61.
