• Size G hook
• 8 half inch black buttons
• Yarn needle

Abbreviations:
• ch = chain

Row 13: repeat row 4.

Row 14: repeat row 3.

Row 15: repeat row 4.

Continue repeating rows 7-15 until you reach the desired length. A rule that I follow for length is that the scarf should be the length of your arms from fingertip to fingertip with arms held straight out from shoulders.

End with blocks of opposite color of beginning blocks.

Final row: hdc in each st across. Fasten off, weave in ends.

Owls:
Make 2 with color A centers and 2 with color B centers)

Round 1: starting with a magic ring, 8 hdc in ring. Pull tail to tighten ring.

Round 2: 2 hdc in each st around. Fasten off. Join other color.

Round 3: 2 dc in each st around. Sl st to first sc.

Round 4: hdc in next st, (dc, trc, dc) in next st, sc in each of next 3 sts, (dc, trc, dc) in next st, hdc in next st, sl st in next st. Fasten off leaving an 18 inch tail for stitching to scarf. Weave in all ends except the long end.

Sew on button eyes with black yarn and yarn needle. Embroider upside down triangle for beak. Stitch owls to scarf using pictures above for placement.

Tassels:

Cut 36 eight inch pieces from the two colors of yarn that you used for the scarf. Take 3 pieces from both colors and fold in half. With hook pull through edge of scarf.

Pull loose ends through loops and pull tight. Continue for 6 tassels on each end.
