V Cluster Coffee Mug Cozy

I was trying to think of something for the kids' teacher's Christmas presents because I know they get more than enough of those prepackaged gift sets. So I came up with this. And I'm going to make some divinity to stuff the mug with and maybe a pack of cocoa.

Materials:
• Size H crochet hook
• A very small amount (less than 75 yards) of worsted weight yarn. I used Red  Heart's With Love in Fruit Punch
• Yarn Needle
• One button that is 1 1/4" in diameter

Abbreviations:
• Ch = Chain
• Sk = Skip
• DC = Double Crochet
• Sp = Space
• Sl st = slip stitch

Instructions for v cluster: *(yarn over, insert hook in indicated st, yarn over, draw up a loop, yarn over, draw through two loops on hook) twice in same st, yarn over, draw through all 3 loops on hook*, ch 1, repeat from * to * in same st.

Ch 40

Row 1: v cluster in 4th ch from hook [sk next 2 ch, v cluster in next ch] 11 times, sk next 2 ch, dc in last ch. Ch 2, turn.

Row 2-4: v cluster in the ch 1 sp of each v cluster from previous row. DC in last st. Ch 2, turn.

Row 5: v cluster in ch 1 sp of each v cluster from previous row. DC in last st. Sl st down the side to the middle of side, ch 8, then continue al at down side. Fasten off, weave in ends.
