Rootin' Tootin' Cowboy/Cowgirl Booties Pattern

This is written for a size 3-6 months but I've also made them in a 0-3 months using this same pattern and using a D hook. I'm sure larger sizes could be made with larger hooks. Materials: • Size E Crochet Hook • Worsted Weight Yarn Abbreviations: • ch = chain • sc = single crochet • hdc = half double crochet • st = stitch • BLO = back loop only • flo = front loop only • sc dec = single crochet decrease • sl st = slip stitch • hdc dec = half double crochet decrease • dc = double crochet With first color, ch 7. Round 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each of the next 4, 5 sc in last ch. Now working on the back side of the chain, sc across. Join in first sc. Ch 2. Round 2: hdc in first st, 2 hdc in next st, hdc in each of the next 3 sts, 2 hdc in each of the next 2 sts, hdc in next 2 sts, 2 hdc in next st, hdc in next 6 sts. Join to first hdc. Ch 1. Convertible Infinity Scarf Pattern

I had no idea when I was making this (originally to be just a cowl) that this could be worn different ways. It's written for adult size but by decreasing the foundation chain, you could make it for a child. (Just make sure you start with an odd number of chains.) 45 Minute Basket Weave Ear Warmer

Materials: • Size N hook • Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick & Quick Yarn Oatmeal • Large yarn needle Abbreviations: • Ch = chain • Hdc = half double crochet • Fpdc = front post double crochet • Bpdc = back post double crochet • Sl st = slip stitch • St = stitch Ch 49 (Note: this can be made smaller or larger, just make sure that your chain count is a multiple of 6 plus 1) Row 1:  hdc in 2nd ch from hook and in each across. Ch 1, turn. (48 hdc) Row 2:  hdc in first st, * fpdc next 3 sts, bpdc next 3 sts*. Repeat from * to * across to last st. Hdc in last st. Ch 1, turn. (48 sts) Rows 3-7:  repeat row 2. (I realize that normally the rows of a basket weave are alternated but because we're using bulky yarn, it's not necessary to alternate.) Row 8:  sl st in each st across. Join the two short ends by sl st-ing them together then fasten off an weave in ends.

Snowflake Tree Ornament

Materials: • size F (3.75 mm) hook • very small amount of worsted weight yarn (I used I Love This Yarn in Amethyst) • flat back rhinestones (optional) • craft glue (if you're using rhinestones) • yarn needle Abbreviations: • ch = ch • sc = single crochet •sl st = slip stitch Round 1:  starting with a magic ring, 12 sc in ring. Sl st to first sc. Pull tail of ring to tighten ring. Round 2:  ch 1, sc in same st, ch 3, sc in next st, * sc in next st, ch 3, sc in next st.* Repeat from * to * around. Sl st to first sc. Round 3:  in each ch 3 sp around: sc, ch 1, sc (ch 6, sl st to 3rd ch from hook, ch 3, sl st to 3rd ch from hook, ch 3, sl st to 3rd ch from hook, sl st to 3rd ch of ch 6) sc, ch 1, sc. Sl st to first sc. Fasten off leaving  long tail to stitch to hat. Weave in yarn tail from ring. Cut a 6 inch length of yarn and tie to the top of one of the points for a hanger. If you're using the rhinestones, glue them to the snowflake and allow to dry over night.

Materials: • I Hook • Worsted weight yarn in white, red and black • White Fun Fur • Two black 5/8" buttons • Yarn needle Abbreviations: • ch = chain • hdc = half double crochet • st = stitch Holding the white and fun fur together, ch  31. Row 1: hdc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. Fasten off. (30 hdc) Row 2: join red yarn and hdc in joining st and in the next 24. Ch 1, turn. (25 hdc) Row 3: hdc in each st across. Materials: • H hook • Worsted weight yarn in orchid, turquoise, black, pink and carrot • Yarn needle Abbreviations: • ch = chain • hdc = half double crochet • yo = yarn over • dc = double crochet • lc = lace cluster • sk = skip • st = stitch • sp = space Special instructions:  V stitch: double crochet, ch 2, double crochet in indicated stitch. Lace cluster: (yo, insert hook, draw up a loop) 4 times in same st, yo, draw through all 9 loops, ch 1. This pattern is written for child size but can easily be adjusted to any size by increasing or decreasing the beginning ch and the amount of rows. With orchid, ch 61.
