Alien Bear Beanie Free Crochet Pattern ALL SIZES
Long time no blog! I've published several new patterns since my last post so I'm going to spend this week updating my blog with these new FREE patterns.

Join the spring green yarn at the center of the back of the hat. SC in each st around. Fasten off, weave in ends.

Materials:
- Red Heart Super Saver Yarn in Black, Spring Green, Delft Blue, Pumpkin & Bright Yellow
- Size H Crochet Hook
- Two Small Buttons (one blue, one orange)
- Yarn Needle
- HDC = Half Double Crochet
- SC = Single Crochet
- ST = Stitch
- SL ST = Slip Stitch
0 - 6 Months
With black
Round 1: Starting with a magic ring, hdc 8 times in ring. Pull tail to tighten ring. (8 hdc)
Round 2: 2 hdc in each st around. (16 hdc)
Round 3: *1 hdc in first st, 2 hdc in next st.* Repeat from * to * around. (24 hdc)
Round 4: *1 hdc in each of the first 2 sts, 2 hdc in next st.* Repeat from * to * around. (32 hdc)
Round 5: *1 hdc in each of the first 3 sts, 2 hdc in next st.* Repeat from * to * around. (40 hdc)
Round 6 - 15: HDC in each st around. (40 hdc each round) Do not fasten off if you are going to add the ear flaps. If you aren't going to add the ear flaps, fasten off and weave in ends. After weaving in ends (if you aren't making ear flaps)join the spring green yarn in the center of the back of the hat. SC in each st around. Fasten off, weave in ends.
Ear Flaps (optional)
Worked in rows
Row 1: Sl st into the next st, ch 2, hdc in same st as sl st, hdc in next 7 sts. Ch 2, turn. (8 hdc)
Row 2 & 3: HDC in each st across. Ch 2, turn. (8 hdc)
Row 4 - 9: Skip 1st st. HDC across. Ch 2, turn.
Row 10: Skip 1st st. HDC across. Fasten off, weave in ends.
With right side of hat facing you, count 16 sts from right to left and join yarn with sl st. Repeat rows 1 - 10 above.
Join the spring green yarn at the center of the back of the hat. SC in each st around. Fasten off, weave in ends.
6 - 12 Months
With black
Round 1: Starting with a magic ring, hdc 8 times in ring. Pull tail to tighten ring. (8 hdc)
Round 2: 2 hdc in each st around. (16 hdc)
Round 3: *1 hdc in first st, 2 hdc in next st.* Repeat from * to * around. (24 hdc)

Round 7 - 19: HDC in each st around. (48 hdc each round) Do not fasten off if you are
going to add the ear flaps. If you aren't going to add the ear flaps,
fasten off and weave in ends. After weaving in ends (if you aren't
making ear flaps)join the spring green yarn in the center of the back of
the hat. SC in each st around. Fasten off, weave in ends.
Ear Flaps (optional)
Worked in rows
Row 1: Sl st into the next st, ch 2, hdc in same st as sl st, hdc in next 9 sts. Ch 2, turn. (10 hdc)
Row 2 & 3: HDC in each st across. Ch 2, turn. (10 hdc)
Row 4 - 11: Skip 1st st. HDC across. Ch 2, turn.
Row 12: Skip 1st st. HDC across. Fasten off, weave in ends.
With right side of hat facing you, count 16 sts from right to left and join yarn with sl st. Repeat rows 1 - 12 above.
12 Months to 3 Years
With black
Round 1: Starting with a magic ring, hdc 8 times in ring. Pull tail to tighten ring. (8 hdc)

With black
Round 1: Starting with a magic ring, hdc 8 times in ring. Pull tail to tighten ring. (8 hdc)
Round 2: 2 hdc in each st around. (16 hdc)

Round 10 - 28: HDC in each st around. (72 hdc each round) Do not fasten off if you are
going to add the ear flaps. If you aren't going to add the ear flaps,
fasten off and weave in ends. After weaving in ends (if you aren't
making ear flaps)join the spring green yarn in the center of the back of
the hat. SC in each st around. Fasten off, weave in ends.
Ear Flaps (optional)
Worked in rows
Row 1: Sl st into the next st, ch 2, hdc in same st as sl st, hdc in next 15 sts. Ch 2, turn. (16 hdc)
Row 2 & 3: HDC in each st across. Ch 2, turn. (16 hdc)
Row 4 - 18: Skip 1st st. HDC across. Ch 2, turn.
Row 19: Skip 1st st. HDC across. Fasten off, weave in ends.
With right side of hat facing you, count 20 sts from right to left and join yarn with sl st. Repeat rows 1 - 19 above.
Eyes
Make 2 (one pumpkin, one delft blue
Round 1: Starting with a magic ring, 8 hdc in ring. Pull tail to tighten ring. (8 hdc)
Round 2: 2 hdc in each st around. (16 hdc)
Round 3: *1 hdc in first st, 2 hdc in next st.* Repeat from * to * around. (24 hdc)
Round 4: *1 hdc in each of first 2 sts, 2 hdc in next st.* Repeat from * to * around. (32 hdc)
Fasten off leaving tail long enough to stitch eyes to hat. Weave in other ends.
Stitch eyes to hat, then stitch buttons to eyes as shown in picture at the top of the pattern.
Mouth
With the yellow yarn, stitch a zig zag line just below and between the eyes.
Ear Things
Make 2 (one spring green and black, one delft blue and black)
Row 1: Holding the two colors together and starting with a magic ring, ch 1, 2 sc in ring. Pull tail to tighten ring. Ch 1, turn. (2 sc)
Row 2: 2 sc in each st across. Ch 1, turn. (4 sc)
Row 3: 2 sc in the first st, 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts, 2 sc in the last st. (6 sc)
Row 4: 2 sc in the first st, 1 sc in each of the next 4 sts, 2 sc in the last st. (8 sc)
Row 5: 2 sc in the first st, 1 sc in each of the next 6 sts, 2 sc in the last st. (10 sc)
Row 6: 2 sc in each st across. (20 sc)
Fasten off leaving tail long enough to stitch to hat. Weave in other ends. Stitch ears to hat like shown in picture at the top of pattern.
