Materials:

• Size H crochet hook for baby and toddler sizes, size I hook for child size and J for adult size
• Worsted Weight Yarn in black, bright pink, black and bubble gum pink
• Yarn Needle

0 - 3 Months

Using H Hook

Round 1: With black yarn and starting with a magic ring, ch 1, 6 sc in ring. Pull tail to tighten ring. (6 sc)

Round 2: 2 sc in each st around. (12 sc)

Round 3: * 1 sc in first st, 2 sc in next st *. Repeat from * to * around. (18 sc)

Round 4:  * 1 sc in each of first 2 sts, 2 sc in next st *. Repeat from * to * around. (24 sc)

Round 5:  * 1 sc in each of first 3 sts, 2 sc in next st *. Repeat from * to * around. (30 sc)

Round 6: * 1 sc in each of first 4 sts, 2 sc in next st *. Repeat from * to * around. (36 sc)

Round 7: * 1 sc in each of first 5 sts, 2 sc in next st *. Repeat from * to * around. (42 sc)

Rounds 8 - 19: 1 sc in each st around. (42 sc) Fasten off, weave in ends.

Round 20:  Join bubble gum pink yarn and sc in each st around. Fasten off, weave in ends. (42 sc)

3 - 6 Months

Using H Hook

H hook

Row 1: Ch 7, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each st across. Ch 1, turn. 

Row 2: SC DEC over 1st 2 sts, sc in each of the next 2 sts, sc dec over last 2 sts. Ch 1, turn.

Row 3: SC DEC over 1st 2 sts, sc in next st, sc dec over last 2 sts. Ch 1, turn.

Row 4: SC DEC over 1st 2 and last 2 sts. Ch 1, turn.

Row 5: SC DEC over 2 remaining sts. Fasten off, weave in ends.

Stitch a pink piece to a black piece then stitch to top of hat.

For sizes child and teen/adult

H hook

Row 1: Ch 7, hdc in 2nd ch from hook and in each st across. Ch 1, turn.

Row 2: HDC DEC over 1st 2 sts, sc in each of the next 2 sts, hdc dec over last 2 sts. Ch 1, turn.

Row 3: HDC DEC over 1st 2 sts, hdc in next st, hdc dec over last 2 sts. Ch 1, turn.

Row 4: HDC DEC over 1 2 and last 2 sts. Ch 1, turn.

Row 5: HDC DEC over 2 remaining st. Fasten off, weave in ends.

Stitch a pink piece to a black piece then stitch to top of hat.

Eyes

For sizes 0 - 3 months, 3 - 6 months, 6 - 12 months and toddler

H Hook & Bright Yellow Yarn, make 2

Round 1: Starting with a magic ring, ch 1, 6 sc in ring. Pull tail to tighten ring. (6 sc)

Round 2: 2 hdc in each st around. (12 hdc)

Round 3: * 1 hdc in 1st st, 2 hdc in next st *. Repeat from * to * around. (18 hdc)

Round 4: * 1 hdc in each of the first 2 sts, 2 hdc in next st *. Repeat from * to * around. (24 hdc)

Fasten off and weave in ends.

For the pupils: With black ch 6, sc in 2nd ch from hook, hdc in each of the next 3 chs, sc in last ch. Fasten off, weave in ends. Stitch to the yellow part of the eye.

For sizes child & adult/teen

H Hook & Bright Yellow Yarn, make 2

Round 2: 2 hdc in each st around. (12 hdc)

Round 3: * 1 hdc in 1st st, 2 hdc in next st *. Repeat from * to * around. (18 hdc)

Round 4: * 1 hdc in each of the first 2 sts, 2 hdc in next st *. Repeat from * to * around. (24 hdc)

Round 5: * 1 hdc in each of the first 3 sts, 2 hdc in next st *. Repeat from * to * around. (30 hdc)

 

Fasten off and weave in ends.

For the pupils: With black ch 6, sc in 2nd ch from hook, hdc in each of the next 3 chs, sc in last ch. Fasten off, weave in ends. Stitch to the yellow part of the eye.

Nose

All sizes

With the yarn needle and bubble gum pink yarn, stitch an upside down triangle centered between the eyes and couple of rows down.  Fill in the triangle. Do not fasten off yet.

Mouth

All sizes

Still using the yarn needle and bubble gum pink yarn, stitch a line from the bottom of the nose to about 3 or 4 rows down. Now stitch an angled stitch on each side at the bottom of the line you just stitched (somewhat like an arrow). Fasten off, weave in ends.

Whiskers

All sizes

With the white yarn and yarn needle, stitch 2 angled lines with one straight line between them on each side of the nose.
