Toddler Sweetheart Beanie FREE Crochet Pattern

Materials:
- Size H crochet hook
- Worsted weight yarn in pink, red and white
- Yarn Needle for weaving in ends
- Ch = Chain
- HDC = Half Double Crochet
- SC = Single Crochet
- DC = Double Crochet
- TR = Triple (treble) Crochet
- BPHDC = Back Post Half Double Crochet
- FPHDC = Front Post Half Double Crochet
With pink yarn
Round 1: Starting with a magic ring, 8 hdc in ring. Pull ring to tighten ring. (8 hdc)
Round 2: 2 hdc in each st around. (16 hdc)
Round 3: * 1 hdc in first st, 2 hdc in next st *. Repeat from * to * around. (24 hdc)
Round 4: * 1 hdc in each of the first 2 sts, 2 hdc in next st *. Repeat from * to * around. (32 hdc)
Round 5: * 1 hdc in each of the first 3 sts, 2 hdc in next st *. Repeat from * to * around. (40 hdc)
Round 6: * 1 hdc in each of the first 4 sts, 2 hdc in next st *. Repeat from * to * around. (48 hdc)
Round 7: * 1 hdc in each of the first 5 sts, 2 hdc in next st *. Repeat from * to * around. (56 hdc)
Round 8: * 1 hdc in each of the first 6 sts, 2 hdc in next st *. Repeat from * to * around. (64 hdc)
Rounds 9 & 10: 1 hdc in each st around. (64 hdc)
Round 11: BPHDC in each st around. (64 bphdc)
Round 12: HDC in each st around. (64 hdc)
Round 13: Repeat round 11. (64 bphdc)
Round 14: Repeat round 12. (64 hdc)
Round 15: Repeat round 11. (64 bphdc)
Round 16 - 18: HDC in each st around. (64 hdc)
Fasten off and weave in ends. Join white yarn.
Round 19: * hdc in first st, fphdc in next st *. Repeat from * to * around.
Round 20: * fphdc in first st, hdc in next st *. Repeat from * to * around.
Round 21: Repeat round 19. Fasten off and weave in ends. Turn hat right side out and turn up white brim.
Hearts
Make 1 of each size with red yarn
Small Heart:
Starting with a magic ring, ch 2.
Round 1: (3 tr, 4 dc, tr, 4 dc, 3 tr) into magic ring. Pull tail of ring to mostly close ring, leaving a small hole in the middle, ch 2, sl st into the remaining hole in the ring. Pull the tail of magic ring to completely close. Fasten off leaving a tail long enough to stitch heart to hat.
Medium heart
Starting with a magic ring, ch 2.
Round 1: (3 tr, 4 dc, tr, 4 dc, 3 tr) into magic ring. Pull tail of ring to mostly close ring, leaving a small hole in the middle, ch 2, sl st into the remaining hole in the ring. Pull tail of magic ring to completely close.
Round 2: SC in ch sp, 2 hdc in next st, 3 hdc in next st, 2 hdc in next st, hdc in each of next 3 sts, 2 hdc in next st, (hdc, dc, hdc) in next st, 2 hdc in next st, hdc in each of next 3 sts, 2 hdc in next st, 3 hdc in next st, 2 hdc in next st, (sc, sl st) in ch sp. Fasten off leaving a tail long enough to stitch heart to hat.
Large heart
Starting with a magic ring, ch 2
Round 1: (3 tr, 4 dc, tr, 4 dc, 3 tr) into magic ring. Pull tail of ring to mostly close ring, leaving a small hole in the middle, ch 2, sl st into the remaining hole in the ring. Pull the tail of magic ring to completely close.
Round 2: SC in ch sp, 2 hdc in next st, 3 hdc in next st, 2 hdc in next st, hdc in each of the next 3 sts, 2 hdc in next st, (hdc, dc, hdc) in next st, 2 hdc in next st, hdc in each of next 3 sts, 2 hdc in next st, 3 hdc in next st, 2 hdc in next st, (sc, sl st) in ch sp.
Round 3: SC in each of next 2 sts, (sc in next st, 2 sc in next st) three times, sc in each of next 6 sts, 3 sc in next st, sc in each of next 6 sts, (2 sc in next st, sc in next st) three times, sc in each of next 2 sts. Join with a sl st in first st. Fasten off, leaving a tail long enough to stitch heart to hat.
Sew all three of the hearts onto the hat like shown in the picture above or however you'd like.
