Nick's Fingerless Gloves
These will fit the average 4 to 5 year old.
Materials:
- Worsted Weight Yarn (I used Red Heart Super Saver Yarn in Carrot)
- Size H Crochet Hook
- Yarn Needle
Abbreviations:
- Ch = Chain
- HDC = Half Double Crochet
- FPTRC = Front Post Treble Crochet
- BPTRC = Back Post Treble Crochet
- Sl St = Slip Stitch
- Sk = Skip
- Sp = Space

Pattern:
Starting with a tail that's
about 8 inches long, ch 23.
Row 1: HDC in the 2nd
ch from hook and in each ch across. Ch 1, turn. (22 hdc)
Row 2: * HDC in the
first st, fptrc over next st *. Repeat from * to * , ending with an
hdc in each of the last 2 sts. Ch 1, turn. (22 sts)
Row 3: HDC in each of
the first 2 sts, *bptrc over next st, hdc in next st *. Repeat from *
to * to the end of the row. (22 sts)
Row 4: Repeat row 2.
Now using the yarn needle and the tail from the beginning, to stitch
the two ends together to join. From here you will be working in
rounds.
Round 1: SC in each
st around. Ch 1, turn. (22 sc)
Round 2 – 7: HDC in
each st around. Ch 1, turn. (22 hdc)
Round 8: Ch 3, sk 2
sts, hdc in the next 20 sts. Ch 1, turn. (3 ch, 20 hdc)
Round 9: 2 hdc in ch
3 sp from previous round, then hdc in the next 20 sts. Ch 1, turn.
(22 hdc)
Round 10 & 11:
HDC in each st around. Ch 1, turn. (22 hdc)
Round 12: Sl st
around. Fasten off, weave in ends. (22 sl st)
