Fuzzy Flower Girls Ear Flap Hat

Materials used:

•Red Heart Super Saver Yarn in Aruba Sea and White

•Lion Brand Fun Fur in white

•Size H crochet hook

•Yarn needle & scissors 

Abbreviations:

HDC = Half Double Crochet

FPDC = Front Post Double Crochet

BPDC = Back Post Double Crochet

SC = Single Crochet

Sl St = Slip Stitch

Hat:

Starting with Aruba Sea yarn

Round 1: Starting with a magic ring, 8 hdc in ring. Pull tail to tighten ring.

Round 2: 2 hdc in each st around. (16 hdc)

Round 3: *1 hdc in first st, 2 hdc in next*. Repeat from * to * around. (24 hdc)

Round 4: *1 hdc in each of the first two sts, 2 hdc in the next st*. Repeat from * to * around. (32 hdc)

Round 5: *1 hdc in each of the first three sts, 2 hdc in the next st*. Repeat from * to * around. (40 hdc)

Round 6-9: hdc in each st around. Fasten off, weave in ends. (40 hdc)

Round 10: join white yarn and hdc in each st around. (40 hdc)

Round 11: *fpdc first st, bpdc next st*. Repeat around. Fasten off, weave in ends. (40 sts)

Round 12: join Aruba sea yarn, hdc around. (40 hdc)

Rounds 13&14: hdc in each at around. Fasten off, weave in ends.

Earflaps:

Starting where you fastened off, count 8 stitches to the right. Place first st here.

Row 1: hdc in starting st and in the next 7. Ch 1, turn. (8 hdc)

Row 2: hdc in each st across. (8 hdc)

Row 3: hdc dec over first 2 sts, hdc in each st till last 2, hdc dec over last 2 sts.

Row 4: hdc across. Ch 1, turn.

Row 5: hdc dec first 2 sts, hdc in each st till last 2 sts, hdc dec over last 2 sts. Ch 1, turn.

Row 6: hdc across. Ch 1 turn.

Row 7: hdc over first 2 sts and then last two sts. Ch 1, turn.

Row 8: hdc across. Fasten off, weave in ends.

Repeat for other ear flap.

Flower:

With Aruba Sea

Round 1: starting with a magic ring, 8 hdc in ring. Pull tail to close ring.

Round 2: *ch 5, sl st to next st*. Repeat from * to * around.

Round 3: in each ch loop: sl st, sc, hdc, dc, hdc, sc, sl st. Fasten off leaving tail long enough to stitch to hat.

Stitch to hat, fasten off, weave in ends.

Flower center:

Holding white yarn and fun fur together:

Start with magic ring, 8 hdc in ring. Fasten off leaving a tail with the yarn long enough to stitch to center of flower.
