King of the Pumpkin Patch Free Beanie Crochet Pattern

Materials needed:
• H hook for eyes and the hook size specified for the basic beanie pattern
• White and black worsted weight yarn
• Yarn needle

Abbreviations:
• hdc = half double crochet
• sl st = slip stitch
• st = stitch

Eyes:

Make 2 with H hook

For all baby sizes:

Round 1: starting with a magic ring, 8 hdc in ring. Pull tail of ring to tighten ring.

Round 2: 2 hdc in each st around. Sl st to first hdc, fasten off leaving a tail long enough to stitch to hat. Give the circles (eyes) a slight tug to make them ovals. Stitch to hat.

For toddler size:

Round 1: starting with a magic ring, 8 hdc in ring. Pull tail of ring to tighten.

Round 2: 2 hdc in each st around.

Round 3: *1 hdc in first st, 2 hdc in next st.* Repeat from * to * around. Sl st to first hdc of round, fasten off leaving tail long enough to stitch to hat. Give circles (eyes) a slight tug to make oval. Stitch to hat.

For child to adult size:

Round 1: starting with a magic ring, 8 hdc in ring. Pull tail of ring to tighten.

Round 2: 2 hdc in each st around.

Round 3: *1 hdc in first st, 2 hdc in next st.* Repeat from * to * around.

Round 4: *1 hdc in each of first 2 sts, 2 hdc in next st.* Repeat from * to * around. Sl st to first hdc, fasten off leaving tail long enough to stitch to hat. Give circles (eyes) a slight tug to make them ovals. Stitch to hat.

Nose:

With black yarn and yarn needle, stitch two slanted lines as seen in picture above.

Mouth:

With black yarn and yarn needle, stitch a slightly curved smile as seen in picture above.
